I am recruiting students and postdocs to join my research team at UT Austin beginning in January 2027. If you are interested in mathematical analysis as it relates to AI, scientific machine learning, and data-driven problems in science and engineering, you may be a good fit!
If you reach out to me by email, please include your CV, why you want to work with me, what problems excite you, and why you are doing a PhD/postdoc.
Prospective students: Prospective Ph.D. students should apply to the CSEM PhD program in the Oden Institute or the PhD program in the Department of Mathematics and list me as a potential advisor on your application. You should have an undergraduate degree in mathematics (computational, applied, or general), computer science, engineering, statistics, or another related field. For any of these degrees, a strong background in math will lead to the best fit. Experience with at least one coding language and some research experience is also ideal.
Current UT Austin students: I can advise students of the CSEM program in the Oden Institute, the Math Department, and the Statistics and Data Science Department. I am also happy to advise students from other departments subject to mutual interest, and permission of the home department.
